To market, to market, to buy a fat pig

Well, we didn’t really set off to buy a fat pig, however I am sure that we could have had we so desired! Yesterday Paul and I got up early to visit to Sunday Market – a market that seems to get lots of reviews and was also close by to where we were staying. As far as markets go, this was truly an interesting experience, though this shopper declined to shop up a storm. The market appears to be set up for locals as much as it is for tourists. As you walk from stall to stall, you will find fruit, jewelry, local handicrafts, plants, pearls, pets, refreshments and home wares. It was a good tip to get there early, as it does get busy and hot. Here are some of the wares available at this famous market…

I resisted the urge to buy a cane toad purse for my sisters! In fact, all I purchased was a necklace and some little bracelets for our older nieces and nephews.
